End of an Era: Adios Raul!

Few days ago, Real Madrid living legend Raúl González Blanco announced his departure from the Spanish capital to pursue footballing career outside Spain. Raúl, the club's greatest player ever, leave Real Madrid as the holder of several all-time records, including 323 goals in 740 appearances. He also holds the record for the most goals scored in the Champions League.
Real Madrid legend Raúl

Raúl was also a member of Real Madrid's "first" generation of galacticos, which include some of the best players in the world at that time: Ronaldo (Brazil), Zinedine Zidane (France), Luis Figo (Portugal), David Beckham (England), Fabio Cannavarro (Italy), Ruud Van Nistelrooy (Holland), Michael Owen (England), Roberto Carlos (Brazil), and Iker Casillas (Spain). In fact, at some point in the mid-2000s, Madrid's line-up includes the national team captains of Spain, England, France, Portugal and Italy.

Whilst at Madrid, Raúl won 16 major trophies, including three UEFA Champions League and six Spanish Primera La Liga titles. Although, his departure is not the end of his career but a Raúl-less Real Madrid is not Real Madrid at all.

Hopefully, he will add more trophies and other accolades to his distinguished career with his new German club Schalke in Bundesliga.

P.S. Florentino Perez better buy Steven Gerrard from Liverpool.
