Smart Gilas Pilipinas: The Road to London (2012 Olympic Games)

Back in the 1980s, there was the Northern Cement national team (also known as "NCC" or "San Miguel Philippines"). More than 20 years later, came the Smart Gilas Pilipinas (also known as the Smart Gilas Development Basketball Team). Anyway, like the NCC, Smart Gilas is the new "Team Pilipinas" and the team should be treated as the country's national team. Unfortunately, Philippine (plagiarizing) sportswriters prefer to use the commercialized name of the team.

I have a lot to say about the team but if you are a fan of the Philippine national team and international basketball then there is no need for me to talk about it here.

National Head Coach: Rajko Toroman (Serbia)
