|Breakers celebrate their first ever Aussie NBL title|
The 2010-2011 New Zealand Breakers surpassed the 2002 New Zealand Warriors and became the most successful New Zealand franchise in Australian sports. The Kirk Penney-led Breakers demolished Cairns Taipans 85-67 in Game 1 of the Grand Finals series before losing 85-81 to the Taipans in the Second Leg away from home. In Game 3, the Kiwis wrapped up the series, at the same time as the royal wedding, and once again demolished the Taipans 71-55 and became the first ever-New Zealand team to win an Australian league in history.
