World Top 15 Record Holders for the Most Three-Point Shots in a Single Professional Game

Filipino Triggerman Allan Caidic
As a kid growing up in the basketball-crazed Philippines, you heard and read stories of Filipino basketball players carving their names in the annals of the game. One of my favourite players of all time was Filipino basketball legend Allan Caidic. He was known for his three-point shots and for breaking the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) all-time record for the most triples in a single game three times in his career.

Anyway, I always wondered if he holds the world record for the most triples in a game in professional basketball and took me years to look for reliable sources and references.

Do not be surprise if National Basketball Association (NBA) players are not on the list. NBA is about Jordan Wannabeism! They prefer gravity-defying Jordan wannabes over long-range shooters such as Steve Nash, Stephen Curry, and J.J. Redick. The NBA’s all-time record for the most three-point shots in a single game (12 triples shared by Kobe Bryant, Donyell Marshall, and Stephen Curry) will not even feature in the Top 20 simply because a lot of professional players around the world scored 13 or more triples in a single game. Heck, 54 years old, 10 years retired Allan Caidic was able to beat that [NBA] record by scoring 14 triples in August 2010.

[Note: The list will only include records made by basketball players in a professional basketball league. I don't care if you know someone who scored 25 or 30 three points shots in game. If the player did it in college or high school then its not meant to be on this list.]
